Test takers may opt for tests on either an IELTS Computer Based Test or IELTS Paper Based Test. The scores are accepted by over 11,000 organizations including schools, colleges, universities, immigration offices, and professional organizations.

IELTS is conducted all over the world by 2 organizations: IDP and British Council. In India however, IELTS is conducted entirely by IDP as the British Council has discontinued conducting IELTS exams in India since 2021.
